We offer a structured 9-month internship scheme designed to equip aspiring legal professionals with practical skills and real-world insight. Participants will be part of the Internal Members Team and will gain experience across legal research, content creation, and community initiatives. The programme is tailored to support students at different stages of their journey into law. Interns will also have opportunities to collaborate with mentors and industry professionals. By the end of the scheme, participants will have developed both confidence and a strong professional foundation.

What is GO Legally Gifted (GLG) and who is it for?

GLG is a global platform founded on 10th January 2025, dedicated to mentoring, connecting, and empowering aspiring lawyers, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, through events, workshops, and leadership opportunities.

Who is an internal member?

An internal member are the team members of GLG, who volunteer for flexible 9 months, build up their skills and get certified for their work.

What topics are covered in the Career Guidance Workshops and Are the Networking Events open to all law students??

In our Career Guidance Workshops, we cover a wide range of practical and inspiring topics, including:

  • Traditional and alternative legal career paths (solicitor, barrister, in-house, policy, legal tech, academia, NGOs, etc.)

  • CV building and tailored application tips

  • Interview preparation and professional communication skills

  • Networking strategies and building your personal brand

  • Overcoming barriers as first-generation or underrepresented law students

  • Insights into international legal practice and cross-border opportunities

 

Yes, our Networking Events are open to all law students, career changers, apprentices who are looking to expand their network and explore new career opportunities.

How can I join or get involved?

Students can sign up as mentees, volunteer as mentors, or apply to become Campus Ambassadors. Joining is free, and everyone passionate about law, who is from an underrepresented group is welcome, whether in high school, university, or just starting their legal journey.

How do I apply for internships within GLG?

You can apply for internships, mini pupillages and work experience opportunities through the GLG platform by signing up as a member first through the join us section in the website and completing the relevant application forms when opportunities are released. GLG regularly shares internship, mini-pupillage, and work experience opportunities as part of its career development support.

How can I become a campus ambassador?

You can apply to become a Campus Ambassador through the internship opportunities section on the GLG website. After registering your interest, you will be contacted with further details and next steps. This role is open to proactive students who want to represent GLG and connect their campus to legal opportunities.

Are certificates provided?

While not always explicitly stated for every event, GLG programmes often include recognition of participation and merit especially within structured initiatives like mentorship cycles, and internship roles only.

Do I need legal experience?

No. GLG is open to all students, including college students. Many events and programmes are designed for students exploring law for the first time, as well as those already pursuing legal careers.

Are GLG opportunties for only students in law?

No, we do take in students from all years and courses for the internal members role only.

What is the Mentorship Programme?

The Legal Ladder Mentorship Programme is a three month program that connects aspiring lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds with experienced mentors to support their academic and career development.
